Great people know that you must go after your greatness. A big shout out to the future Super Star, Deonee Arnez. I first caught glimpse of Deonee on Facebook a year and some change ago and knew that I wanted to capture this guy. I am very selective about who I reach out to as a photographer because a model can help turn a great vision into a masterpiece. They are part of the great puzzle, that makes the picture come alive. Deonee was getting hit up by many folks to get in front of their camera, so like a great model in charge of his/her image should be, he checked out my work and decided to trust me.  I can say that Deonee is a pleasure to work with. He has a goal in mind and a destiny that he is ready to fulfill.  He's not letting anything get in his way. The pics above are a few from the 2nd shoot we did (8hrs shooting by the way..he's a trooper) . The last picture, a collage of this great guy (not taken by me) shows his great personality. Enjoy world! Remember hard work and dedication pays it.

I love working with with creative and driven artists who are humble and grateful. Monnica Johnson was recommended to me by my friend and first female model, Sade Hill. I am a bit careful when collaborating with someone, because you want to make sure your brand is upheld and your vision is seen as well. There are some who like your work, but want you to take pictures in a specific way to their liking. My thoughts are, why did you want to shoot with me, if you didn't want me to be creatively myself?  Anyway, I trusted Sade Hill and I'm so glad I did! Monnica! Monnica! To say that she is a jewelry designer, a hairstylist, and a make-up artist would be exact, but I prefer to just say that she's a true artist.  Thanks Monnica and to all the beautiful ladies involved!

New Face-Dequan Smith

Dequan Smith..I met a couple of years ago at a time that I had not yet fully explored my passion of photography & graphic art. Yet, during this time, I was quietly researching & learning techniques. In my head I would pretend to be a model scout. (I'm telling you a lot lol right now..but I'm happy to share..it's me :) ) I would see potential models and imagine the greatest of images in my head. 

..At many points along the way of my dreaming, I faced a constant reminder. I was reminded that faith without putting some work behind it, is almost useless. I couldn't keep living in my mind anymore..So, I took the leap into this wonderful photography land. 

It was time to dream during the day and make my imagination come to life!

So, back to Dequan Smith..

The first week of June 2011, I began looking for a new face to capture.  I thought of Dequan, a young man who I found to be quiet, hard working, respectable, and full of potential. I asked him, and thankfully he excitedly said, "YES!"

 So modeling world..I introduce to you a fresh new face that I know you will love (and a recent high school graduate CONGRATULATIONS Dequan!!!).

Just as the images depict a young man finding his way ..I hope you all can enjoy the bright journey this young man is destined to have!
